What else I enjoy!

Here you will find a selection of the projects that I have happily completed in my free time. Thanks to my professional experience in piano making, I have also been able to carry out some restorations in this area.

Repair Player Piano Hupfeld

Another challenge in the world of piano making was this restoration of a Hupfeld and Thürmer player piano. This relic from the early 1920s consists of a normal piano and a self-playing machine that works completely without electricity, using only pneumatic suction.

QRD Diffusor

Handmade QRD diffuser measuring 81 x 81 x 11 cm, specially designed for acoustic use in recording studios. This diffuser was designed to be tuned to a specific frequency range - in this case 1500 Hz.

Repair R. Stelzhammer Piano

After two years of experience in a piano workshop, I ventured into the complete restoration of my own piano. The main steps included repairing the soundboard, restringing, fitting new dampers and hammers and finishing the surface in high-gloss black shellac.

Pianoshelf 2

Fortunately, many people are familiar with the term "upcycling" today. During my time in a piano workshop, I gave numerous pianos that had almost been thrown away a new function. One example of this is this unique shelf.

Violincase restoration

I was given this case and violin completely unexpectedly by a street musician in Vienna. When I started to restore it, I got into conversation with many instrument makers and after a while I ended up working in this field myself. I never saw this street musician again, but I would like to tell him what a positive impact his gift had on my life.
